The thing that gave me the most trouble was looking to the left side for signs. I just instinctively look right for them...

I was using the right side mirror as my rear view.
I only once tried to use my right hand to change gears. I grabbed the door handle.

I struggle even with the window buttons not being in the middle when I rent cars. I’m sure I’d grab the door handle at every light.
